Company History
Founded in 1873 as a Viennese bespoke furniture manufacturer and later purveyor to the Austrian imperial court and the imperial Prussian court. In 1911, the wedding of the future Emperor Karl to Zita, Princess of Bourbon-Parma, was furnished with the FÖHR gold chair, of which 700 pieces are still in the company’s possession. Around 1920, FÖHR became Austria’s first furniture hire company in the interwar period.
After the difficult post-war years up to the end of the 20th century, MIETMÖBEL FÖHR is now once again one of the leading suppliers of event furniture and trade fair equipment in Austria after consistently updating its product range – without forgetting its traditional origins. Today, modern event furniture can be found side by side with historic gold chairs and original garden furniture from the first half of the last century.
Knowing how elaborate and complex even small private parties can be, today we place particular value on a combination of decades of expertise in the organisation and planning of events, an innovative and creative rental range and personal and individual advice for our customers, supported and implemented by our in-house logistics department.
